Daniel Cervoni, age 23, of Berlin, was charged with sexual assault and faces between nine months and 10 years following his conviction on Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice said.
Investigators said Cervoni and three friends were at Quinnipiac University and after a night out returned to the dorms at the New Haven County school. During the night, witnesses told police they saw Cervoni sexually assault a woman who could not stop the attack, authorities said.
Cervoni and the victim both attended the university.
A judge will sentence Cervoni in February 2025.
